Description
Pneumatic piston actuators operate pneumatically using high pressure factory air up to 150 psig, usually without the need for a supply pressure regulator. It provides maximum thrust output and fast response. It is easily reversed by changing the action of the overall valve positioner. This product features the best double acting design to provide maximum force in both directions. A variety of accessories can be combined to position the actuator piston in the event of a supply pressure failure, including spring return devices, pneumatic trip valves and locking systems.
Pneumatic piston actuators are also available with hydraulic buffers, handwheels, and yoke-free units that can be used to operate butterfly valves, shutters, and similar industrial equipment. Other versions for rotary shaft control valves include sliding seals on the lower end of the cylinder. This allows the actuator rod to move laterally as well as up and down without leaking cylinder pressure. (This feature allows the actuator stem to be connected directly to the actuator stem mounted on the rotary valve shaft, eliminating most of the freewheeling common to joint leaks.)
