How to deal with a stuck or clogged regulator valve

During the operation of the regulating valve, sometimes due to the principle of the medium, the regulating valve will be stuck or blocked and cannot work normally. At this time, it should be avoided or dealt with. Several methods are introduced below for reference only.

Welding slag, rust, slag, etc. in the cleaning method pipeline block or get stuck in the saving port, guide part, and balance hole of the lower bonnet, causing strain and scratches on the curved surface of the valve core, guide surface, and pressure on the sealing surface. marks etc. This often occurs in new commissioning systems and in the early stages of commissioning after major repairs. This is a common fault.

In this case, it is necessary to disassemble for cleaning to remove the slag, and if the sealing surface is damaged, it should be ground; at the same time, open the bottom plug to flush out the slag that falls into the lower valve cover from the balance hole, and remove the slag. Flush the pipeline. Before putting into operation, let the regulating valve fully open, and the medium will be active for a period of time before it is brought into normal operation.

The external flushing method is often blocked at the saving port and guide when using ordinary valves to adjust some media that are easy to deposit and contain solid particles, and the flushing gas and steam can be externally flushed at the bottom plug of the lower valve cover. When the valve is blocked or stuck, open the external gas or steam valve to complete the flushing operation without moving the regulating valve, so that the valve can operate normally.
