The three primary types of globe valves are

 

Tee Pattern Globe Valve: Tee pattern globe valves, also known as T-pattern globe valves, feature a T-shaped body design. They have an inlet and outlet connection located on the same plane, forming a straight flow path when the valve is fully open. Tee pattern globe valves are commonly used in applications where space is limited or when a straight flow path is desired.

Angle Pattern Globe Valve: Angle pattern globe valves have an angled body configuration, with the inlet and outlet connections positioned at a 90-degree angle. This design allows for a change in flow direction. Angle pattern globe valves are often used in applications where flow direction adjustment is required, or when there are space constraints that make it difficult to accommodate a straight-through flow path.

Wye Pattern Globe Valve: Wye pattern globe valves, also known as Y-pattern globe valves, have a Y-shaped body configuration. They have an inlet connection located on one side of the valve body and two outlet connections on the other side, forming a Y-shaped flow path. Wye pattern globe valves are typically used in applications where flow diversion or flow splitting is necessary.

It's worth noting that these three types of globe valves—tee pattern, angle pattern, and wye pattern—differ in their body configurations and the resulting flow paths. The selection of the appropriate type depends on the specific application requirements, including the desired flow direction, space limitations, and the nature of the fluid being controlled.
